Workshop Report: Modernizing SPS Measures in CAREC and Use of Digital Certification

This report provides summary of a 24 February 2021 workshop titled “Modernizing Sanitary-Phytosanitary (SPS) Measures in CAREC and Use of Digital Certification” organized jointly by the CAREC Institute and the Asian Development Bank. It discusses areas for strengthening SPS systems in CAREC countries and support measures for post-pandemic recovery. The report provides that CAREC members have significant trade potential in agriculture and this potential could be leveraged by increased harmonization and digitalization.
