The Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Institute held a reception in Beijing in conjunction with the Belt and Road Development Forum on 21 June 2019.

The CAREC Institute representatives attended the 18th CAREC Transport Sector Coordinating Committee (CTSCC) meeting in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on April 25-26, 2019.

Mr. Liang Ziqian, Deputy Director 1 of CAREC Institute represented CI and delivered a speech at the forum.

On 16 January 2019, CAREC Institute Director Ambassador Sanjaasuren Bayaraa met the Mongolian Government delegation led by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Ms.Battsetseg Batmunkh at CI Headquarters in Urumqi, PRC.

The delegation of CAREC Institute led by director Mr. Sanjaasuren Bayaraa visited Ashgabad, Turkemnistan on 15th November to participate in the 17th Ministerial Conference.

On 9th November, 2018, the Director General of International Cooperation and Service Center/Foreign Airlines Service Center of CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China), Mrs. Qingfen Meng and two retinues visited CI and a meeting was held to discuss the collaboration between two organizations.

Delegation of CAREC Institute led by director Mr. Bayaraa Sanjaasuren traveled to Baku, Azerbaijan for signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the CAREC Institute and the Permanent Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA (TRACECA).

CAREC Institute staff celebrated the 1st anniversary of the establishment of the Institute as an intergovernmental knowledge and research institution.

Sanjaasuren Bayaraa, director of the CAREC Institute in Urumqi, PRC, to enhance CAREC programs through knowledge generation and capacity building, said that CAREC should coordinate and collaborate with the Belt and Road Initiative for win-win results for all sides involved.

Asian Development Bank’s Board of Directors has approved $198 million in additional financing to scale up its support in enhancing horticulture value chain development in all 12 regions in Uzbekistan as well as in the autonomous region of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

Members of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of Parliament (Majlisi Oli) have unanimously endorsed the law on ratification of an agreement on establishment of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Institute that was signed in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, in 2014.

The Azerbaijani Parliament has approved an agreement on establishment of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Institute at a plenary session on December 1.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar called upon the member countries of Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) to expedite works on the Pakistan’s proposals to accelerate cooperation in aviation, capital markets and capacity development.
