Workshop on CAREC Road Asset Management Maturity Assessment and Training of Trainers
On 30 March 2021, the CAREC Institute has delivered a workshop to share preliminary findings of its CAREC road asset management (RAM) maturity assessment and training of trainers (TOT). The Institute has completed a diagnostic assessment of CAREC countries road asset management systems in a TOT mode, which had begun in January 2021 with support from the Asian Development Bank. This activity is part of the CAREC Institute’s cascading and TOT capacity building program on transport infrastructure asset management in the CAREC region.
The workshop brought together international and regional experts as well as CAREC leading RAM professionals to present and discuss a CAREC-customized maturity assessment framework which was developed in collaboration with CAREC member representatives. The framework highlighted some of the priority gaps and pressing issues in asset management that need immediate interventions. Overall, the framework will help member countries to conduct self-assessments based on CAREC templates and benchmark good practices across the region.
