Residential Workshop on Debt Sustainability
Co-organized by the Multilateral Cooperation Center for Development Finance (MCDF) and the CAREC Institute, this pivotal four-day event aims to equip policymakers and financial experts with critical tools to address the pressing challenges of sovereign debt management.
Amid the rising sovereign debt distress, further compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Workshop will build upon the successful Workshop Series on Sustainable Financing of Development and Infrastructure, which has engaged over 800 professionals from 60 countries worldwide. Attendees will delve into key topics such as debt management strategies, risk mitigation, and debt sustainability assessments, fostering an environment conducive to knowledge exchange and collaboration.
With participants expected from CAREC countries’ Debt Management Offices and financial institutions, the workshop will provide a platform for meaningful interaction between borrowers and lenders. This initiative marks a significant step towards empowering regional stakeholders to tackle debt-related issues with confidence and innovation.
