Navigating Economic Storms: Strategies for Ensuring Food Security in CAREC Countries

The CAREC Institute, in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), is pleased to announce an upcoming webinar titled “Tackling Food Insecurity during Economic Turbulence: Exploring Solutions for Financial Strain and Inflation Impacts on Vulnerable Families.” This pivotal event is scheduled for September 13, 2024, from 16:00 to 18:00 Beijing time (UCT +8).

As food security remains a pressing concern across the CAREC region, this webinar aims to address the intricate challenges posed by economic instability and inflation, particularly for low-income households. Recent findings from a comprehensive household survey conducted by ADBI reveal alarming trends linking high inflation rates to increased food insecurity, underscoring the urgent need for effective coping strategies.

The webinar will feature key presentations from leading experts, including insights from the report “Food Insecurity, Inflation and Government Aid: Evidence from Household Surveys in Developing Asia.” Participants will engage in discussions focused on regional perspectives, best practices, and actionable policy recommendations to enhance food security resilience amidst economic uncertainties.
